Ever wondered how they make those beautiful twists running up & down a piece of work?
Then this is the workshop for you.
Here you will learn the ease of Cable knitting, which is a style of knitting in which textures of crossing layers are achieved by permuting stitches & is easier than you think. You will learn to knit both Rope Cable & Gull Cable as well as some of the terminology required for many cable patterns
For this workshop you will need to know how to Cast on as well as knowing how to create the Knit & Purl stitches to create the rib pattern, you will be working on a very basic stitch which once this has been accomplished you will be more than ready to move on the more advanced techniques of cable work.
Workshop materials you will need to bring are 5mm Knitting needles, 5mm Cable needle, Aran weight knitting yarn, A row counter or pen & paper. We suggest a light coloured yarn at this stage so it will be easier for you to see your work as you progress at your new found skill
Please make sure that the yarn & Needles you bring are compatible for this workshop including the Cable needle required. All needles & yarn required for this workshop will be available to buy at the workshop. Please contact us in advance if you require help obtaining the cable needle in a particular size. We hope to offer a supply of suitable yarns & needles on the day to purchase
